SG10K: Discoveries from Mapping 10,000 Genomes

The SG10K study, Phase I of Singapore's NPM programme, mapped 10,000 genomes across Chinese, Malay, and Indian populations, uncovering millions of previously undetected genetic variants. Key findings include heredity risks for conditions like familial hypercholesterolaemia, breast/ovarian cancer, and Lynch syndrome that differ by ethnicity. The results highlights critical gaps in existing western-dominated genoic databases and pave the wat for more personalised, Asia-relevant precision medicine.
