PRECISE has appointed Illumina and a consortium led by Lucence to perform whole-genome sequencing for SG-INSIGHT, the flagship cohort of Phase III of Singapore's National Precision Medicine (NPM) programme. SG-INSIGHT aims to sequence the genomes of around 450,000 people to generate evidence from genomic and health data to support preventive approaches to healthcare.
Illumina will sequence samples at its genomics facility in Singapore. Its local scientific, laboratory and bioinformatics teams will oversee sample preparation, sequencing and genomic data analysis.
The second vendor is a consortium led by Singapore-based Lucence, working with QIAGEN and Ultima Genomics.
Lucence will provide end-to-end programme management and local operational leadership, integrating its partners' technologies within its clinical laboratory operations. QIAGEN will support automated DNA extraction and library preparation, while Ultima Genomics will provide sequencing and genomic analysis capabilities.
